2025 was an exciting year at WCAA and we have accomplished so much.  As planned, we presented 12 art exhibitions at the WCAA Gallery starting the year off with “The Dinner Party”.  Curator Debby Pollak invited our Wayne County school students to fill our dinner party tables with place settings honoring a special woman of their choice.  Wow!  They did not disappoint!  Over 250 students responded enthusiastically and so creatively with ceramic plates, cups and wall art featuring the women who inspired them.  Amelia Earhart, Harriet Tubman, Greta Thurman and their own mothers and grandmothers!

In addition, we presented 11 more art exhibitions including member curated, solo and group shows.  Member Artist Jeff George presented “Dent” and showed us the diversity of his work.  “Earth Echoes”, a timely show curated by member Naomi Teppich, reminded us to respect and protect the balance of nature.  And we all were delighted with “26 – Art of the Alphabet”, conceived by Pauline Glykokokalos and including the art of 13 fabulous artists.  View an overview of our 2025 Gallery exhibitions at  https://youtu.be/iFrx7ksM6a4?feature=shared

And wait, there’s more!  The 10^th edition of The Great Wall of Honesdale, “THE CHAIR” – our Summer Art Project, our 22^nd Artists’ Studio Tour, Life Drawing sessions, The Halloween Bash, and (going on right now) our Holiday Art Sale “Art-Under-$100 & More”.  With a schedule that full, it’s no wonder we needed help.  And with YOUR generous support we were able to bring Rachel Caudell to our team as our Gallery Assistant.

And we have more goals for future art projects plus improving and maintaining our building.  Each year we renew our commitment to provide our community with a place for art lovers and artists of all ages to meet, show their art, and get involved.  The WCAA Gallery has been a presence on Main Street for 2 ½ years now and we continue to welcome both new and returning faces who come in and tell us they are so glad we are here.
