Perspective shapes not only how we see our history, but how we carry it forward. My perspective is that we can hold American values and patriotism close while still allowing our interpretation of them to evolve—taking the strongest parts of our past and blending them with what we’ve learned over 250 years. By using bold, unexpected colors, I wanted to reframe the Statue of Liberty to reflect that perspective, presenting a familiar symbol through a more contemporary lens. In doing so, I hope my artwork suggests that honoring America doesn’t require replicating the past exactly—it invites us all to see, think, and reimagine what comes next.
