“Paint the Town” in Hawley

Get ready to unleash your inner artist! The Wayne County Arts Alliance (WCAA) is excited to announce a “Call for Art Submissions” for a major new art project in Hawley, PA. The WCAA has teamed up with the Downtown Hawley Partnership and the Foundation for Harmony Presents to launch a thrilling new art project in Hawley, PA. The grand plan? Beautiful banners bedecked with original artwork from local creatives! These masterpieces will be proudly displayed on poles throughout Hawley, mostly along Main Avenue, creating a dazzling art trail.
We are asking artists to submit digital images of their artwork for consideration.

- The theme is “Paint the Town”. We are seeking a variety of artistic styles and subject matter.
- Please submit up to 3 images per artist for consideration. Low resolution images are requested for judging (72 dpi and 650 pixels on longest side). Those selected to participate will be required to submit a high-resolution image for printing (300 dpi and 5000 pixels on longest side). All images should be jpegs; indicate title, medium and year created for each submission.
- Submissions must include full contact information including name, phone number AND email. Submissions which do not follow all guidelines will not be considered.
- Selections will be made based on artistic quality and graphic strength. The banners will be viewed by drivers in cars as well as pedestrians, so strong graphic qualities and vivid colors are important to be effective. All submissions should be vertical. Finished dimensions of the banners will be 28” x 60”. Some cropping may be necessary.

com. Please put “Paint the Town” in the subject line. - Deadline for entries is January 20, 2024. Selections will be announced soon afterward and the banners are scheduled to be installed in April 2024.
- If your artwork is selected, artists will be asked to grant permission for one print to be created on a banner to be placed on public display in Hawley, PA. Images of these banners will be used for publicity to promote downtown Hawley and this “Paint the Town” project. Ownership of the original artwork remains with the Artist. Artists’ names will be included in promotions and credited on the WCAA website.
