Rena Hottinger

Artist—  acrylic,  watercolor and painter of mixed media and digital photography

Artist Statement –

Born in Brooklyn, NY and with many years of experience in healthcare,  Rena Hottinger has consistently balanced her career with a passion for the arts.  Rena attended certificate programs in 1) Floral Design @ the NY Botanical Gardens, and 2) Massage Therapy in NJ.  She also worked as Creative Designer for a working family farm in NJ and volunteered for ArtWorks, a foundation in NJ created to bring art expression to chronically ill children.

An award winning artist & photographer, Rena now lives in the Poconos utilizing various mediums for free-style self-expression including watercolor, acrylic, oil, soft pastel, charcoal, ink, clay, collage, photography and floral design.  Drawn to the world of the “abstract” she freely enjoys experimenting in this style particularly on larger canvas.

Appreciating Buddhist philosophy, she explains that “creating art” is a virtue of wholesomeness, an exploration of truth, and a contribution to a meaningful life that benefits all.  Rena contends that everything happens in the moment —including creating and appreciating art!
