Jakub Jasinski
Jakub is a mathematics professor with deep appreciation for art and for the natural world. Since his immigration to the United States in 1987, he began capturing the beauty of the American landscape with his film and digital cameras. Jakub’s work was publisher by National Geographic and as a laureate of the UNEP “Focus on Your World” had his work shown at the Grand Central Station, Paris, Cologne, and Tokyo.
Today, as a resident of Lake Ariel, he still enjoys outdoor photography nature, especially the birds of Wayne County. However, over the last few years, acrylic painting became his passion. “I paint what I like. It could be a landscape, flowers or a still life but it must evoke and emotional response in me. It could also serve a purpose, as in a portrait of someone/something dear to me.” His work can be seen at the AFA Gallery in Scranton and in private collections.
