Gail Mardfin

Gail’s vacation home in the beautiful Endless Mountains was first built in 1979 “with four hands” – hers and her “wusband,” Robert Starkey, also an artist. She joyfully spends many summer weeks there still, even though she currently lives in northern California to be closer to her young granddaughter. Previously, she was an art teacher in New Jersey for 20 years and then founded her own graphic design business. In the early 2000s she began creating her own art in earnest, always within the theme “See the Good,” her outlook on life. Though she has worked with stylized acrylics and mixed media, currently she is exploring watercolors to capture still lives and landscapes that would bring a peaceful smile to the viewer. An enlargement of her “Clothesline Quilt” is featured on the 2023 Great Wall of Honesdale, and her watercolor & ink greeting cards are available in the 859 Shop.
