Deborah Pollak is a painter and art educator who moved from
Philadelphia to Wayne County last year. She received a BFA in
fine arts from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and taught
art and art education for over thirty years in a variety of settings
including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, independent and public
schools, Tyler School of Art, and Moore College of Art and
Design. Deborah’s art and teaching have been intertwined for
many years, focussing on her students deeply, committed to the
belief that making art is an essential part of the growth and
education of children, and can be a healing force for all of us.
Since moving to the country, Deborah has expanded her art
making to new art forms. While painting is still a constant and
primary focus, she has been doing ceramic work, making prints,
and growing a garden.
