 Short Biography 

 Danielle Griffis is an artist based in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. She studied Fine Art Photography at Rochester Institute of Technology before finding her truest expression through painting. By day, she restores and renovates a castle; by evening, she’s surrounded by the love and joyful chaos of raising four children. When the house grows quiet, she turns to her studio, where painting has become both her refuge and her medicine. For nearly a year, Danielle has been creating a body of work inspired by the rolling movement of the ocean and the fleeting brilliance of sunsets. Her paintings channel color, memory, and emotion into waves that carry both hope and calm—inviting the viewer to pause, breathe, and dream.

 Artist Statement 

 My work drifts between memory and movement, between the restless tide and the stillness of dusk. Each painting is a meditation, a release—an unspoken dialogue between color and emotion. I paint in waves, letting them rise and fall like the rhythm of breath, carrying fragments of sunsets my family and I have chased. The canvas becomes both a landscape and a mirror: a place to pour my anxieties and a space where calm returns. These pieces are not only ocean-scapes or skies at twilight—they are reminders of how light persists, how beauty emerges even through turbulence, and how hope, like the tide, always finds its way back.
