2008: Open Studio Tour
WCAA celebrates 6 years of Open Studio Tours!
Beginning Friday July 25th and continuing through July
27th, twenty artist members of the Wayne County Arts Alliance
will open their art studios to the public. Art lovers will have the opportunity
to speak with some amazing artists, and actually tour the space where
all the magic happens. There are a variety of mediums represented on the
tour this year including folk art, pottery, furniture, fabric, painting,
sculpture, and woodcarving. Several artists will be offering on-site educational
presentations in conjunction with this event.
This year, in response to visitor and artist feedback, the WCAA will
host an Open Studio Tour Headquarters at the Central Park Gallery, located
at 914 Church St. Honesdale, PA. The Studio Tour Headquarters will showcase
a work of art from each of the tour artists. In addition, WCAA members
will be available to help viewers plan their tour.
Our community abounds with natural beauty and charm. Each artist’s studio
offers a unique character that is influenced by the historic downtown,
the endless meadows, dirt roads, streams, and mountains. These influences
are also evident in their artwork. We hope you will join WCAA in celebrating
the sixth Annual Open Studio Tour. Share in the life of an artist for
the afternoon and experience first-hand the inner-workings of an art studio,
while enjoying the charm of Wayne County. We promise it will be an unforgettable
event.
