Instructor: Hana Gorman This two-day introductory polymer clay workshop is an intensive and condensed version of the traditional six week course. Polymer clay (trademarked as Fimo or Sculpey) is a pliable synthetic compound versatile enough to sculpt, carve, texture, paint, stamp, mold and layer into intricate patterns. It does not dry out and may be€ fired in a standard home oven. Saturday class will be devoted to learning how to shade in clay (“Skinner Blend”) and how to create intricate designs known as ”mille€ ori canes”. Practical applications for pen, tin or bead projects will take place on Sunday morning. Texturing techniques, use of metal foils and application of transfers to decorative tiles will take place in the afternoon. Members: $120 Non-Members: $135 Material fee: $20 (Payable at class)

Instructor: Hana Gorman In this workshop, part of the Folk Art series, the students will celebrate the arrival of spring by learning how to color eggs the "old-fashioned” way. The traditional art of Ukrainian eggs, Pysanky, starts with actual eggshells that are decorated in a technique akin to Batik. Instructor: Linda Cobb Drawing Zentangles is a technique of meditation achieved through drawing. Zentangles are sequenced patterns with no up or down, right or wrong. This is non-verbal language of patterns and proportions unlocks creative abilities and insights. Drawing skills are not necessary - anyone can Zentangle. We are now combining the best of Zentangle into an all-day workshop. The students will learn a short history of Zentangle, a minimum of twenty “tangles”, numerous “strings”, as well as many Zentangle design applications. Instructor: Thomas Bosket Here is a rare chance to learn methods of creating a painting that the great masters of art have used for centuries! Learn to mix colors precisely, control the viscosity of paint, and layer through glazing and scumbling. This will all be taught in acrylic but will be very useful to oil painters. Things to bring: a good color copy of a still life you LOVE, one that involves layering of color (13th to the 18th Century). I will bring some too, so don't worry if you can't find one. You may have to paint ON this, so make sure you are OK with that! Consider bringing your favorite brushes although the instructor will supply all of what you need. Members: $70 Non-Members: $80 Material Fee: $15 (payable at class)

• Material fees payable to the instructor at the time of the class.
• Class dates are subject to change. If you missed the class of your choice, call, it is often postponed.
• ADVANCED REGISTRATION REQUIRED!
• To secure your place in a class, you must enroll via PayPal above, or fill out the form included in the class schedule below and enclose the full tuition payment by check payable to WCAA. The material fee is payable to the instructor at the time of the first class.
• If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, instructor’s illness, or other emergency, students will be notified prior to the scheduled start date and a full refund will be issued. Classes cancelled due to inclement weather will be rescheduled.
• Tuition is non-refundable unless WCAA is notified no less than one week prior to start date.
• WCAA will not reduce or prorate any class fees for missed classes or late enrollment.
