2012 Artists' Tour Application

The Open Studio Tour has been renamed 2012 Artists' Tour, with applications now being accepted online. We're gearing up for another exciting weekend with new studios and artists. Note our new requirements. See below for important dates, guidelines, and entry form.

Important Dates

• Artists' Application Deadline including fee and images - March 1, 2012
• Artists' Tour Kickoff Exhibition - Art Market in the Hawley Silk Mill - July 26 (Thurs), 2012, Time TBA (evening)
• Artists' Tour Weekend - July 27, 28, and 29 (Fri-Sun), 2012, 10am - 5pm

Why Should I Participate?

1. Opportunity to exhibit and sell your art at your own venue at no markup.
2. Opportunity to display one piece of art in the Art Market for all of July, with 60% of sale going to the artist.
3. Eligibility to hold one Studio Workshop in conjunction with WCAA's 2012 Art Tour in your own studio in the fall.
4. Opportunity to give back to the community through art demonstrations.

Information, Guidelines, & Requirements

• All applicants must be current WCAA members. Go to our Membership page to become a member.
• The applicants must exhibit, either in their studios or alternative venues, within Wayne County, PA.
• If a personal studio is not available, artists must secure their own exhibition spaces, and will be responsible for all hanging and exhibition of works. Contact the WCAA for possible exhibition locations if needed.
• An in-person interview and/or studio visit will be required during the selection process between March 1 and April 1 2012.
• The selection committee has the right to require additional professional photography of artwork if selected for inclusion (provided free of charge).
• Artists must be present at tour site during the entire tour weekend, attend the Kickoff Exhibition the evening before and a wrap-up event a week after (TBA).
• Inclusion of an educational component is encouraged, such as a demonstration, a hands-on activity, or a process description.
• Accepted artists must attend an orientation meeting held in June (TBA).
• Submission of one piece for inclusion in Artists' Tour Exhibit located at the Art Market in the Hawley Silk Mill. Exhibition will run for all of July, with 60% of sale going to the artist.
• Artist is responsible for all liability insurance, business licensing, and sales tax during the event. If selected, artists must provide documentation.
• Evaluation for inclusion will be based on quality of work, body of work, presentation, artists proximity to Wayne County, and suitability for visitors as evaluated by selection committee.

Submission Requirements

• Fill out and submit online application below, or download application and mail.
• Submit three (3) digital photographs of work by email to tour@waynecountyartsalliance.org with your last name - Tour 2012 as subject. JPEG images 1800x1200 pixels or greater preferred.
• Provide a head shot of artist (300dpi/ 1800x1200 pixels or greater) in their studio preferred, or allow professional photo to be taken free of charge.
• Address of planned exhibition space. For final acceptance, a letter by the venue owner agreeing to host artist for tour weekend, subject to approval.
• Optional donation of a piece for inclusion in the raffle held during the Kickoff Exhibition.
• Participation Fee: $175 - The total to be refunded minus $25 for administrative costs if not selected for inclusion. Payable via PayPal, credit card via PayPal or check sent to
