I was born in Illinois in 1948. After trying college, enlisting in the Navy,
and living in Alaska I was exposed to seeing how the other half lived and believed. In 1978, my wife and
I moved to a small town in Milanville, PA. We adopted 2 children from Korea- A daughter and a son who we
love dearly. I worked a lot of different jobs since we moved here in 1978. My interest in art started to
grow as I started meeting artists in our area in about 1994. About 1996, I started some folk art projects
for my own enjoyment in a very informal way. After I started to develop my own style in artistic
ventures and creating Folk Art, the township of Damascus granted a re-zoning application for a section
of my property as a cultural site. In 2003, I was awarded a fellowship grant from the PA Council of the
Arts. I am extremely grateful for this chance to pursue my goal of furthering my new career in the field
of art as possibly a full time vocation in the near future.
