
Steve Layman lives in Beach Lake, Pa. with his wife and their three children. Steve
holds a Bachelors of Science degree in visual education from Kutztown University and
a Masters of Arts degree in Studio Art from Marywood University He also did extensive
study at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia in their fine arts degree program. He
has been a visual arts educator for over twenty five years teaching children of high school
age and has been the Director of Crafts at Trails End Camp for the last thirteen years.
His business experience is shared in both the picture frame industry and as a maker of
fine Victorian wooden horse rockers. His artistic experience includes bronze sculpture,
welded steel and wood sculpture, a painter of landscapes, abstraction and layered three
dimensional environmental scenes usually associated with the South West. His latest
work centers around anamorphic imagery composed within fractured environments of
divided space with colors ranges of light grays, earth tones, deep red and blue pastels.His
art work has been collected and shown in several regional and local galleries as well as
Center City Philadelphia and Media, Pa.
