An artist exploring the boundaries of avant-garde quilting, Linda incorporates silk, metallic and translucent cloths, fabrics of ethnic origin and design and traditional swatches of cotton. Intricately machined and hand embellished, her work also reads like a patchwork quilt of techniques and incorporates beading, brocade, hand painting, and appliqu?. Her sparkling and spontaneous designs are inspired by birds, places, events-an even by the fabrics themselves. Notably, reverse sides are often strikingly different and equally significant.
