
Michael Hardesty is known principally
for his large, cerebral, multi-media installations which by layering
various
perceptual impulses, explore sensation and reason. He was represented
for 10 years by German Van Eck, New York City, and his work is in the
permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art. His most recent show
was at the Butler Institute of American Art, Ohio, where he was chosen
to inaugurate a new media wing of the museum. Also a master painter,
designer, photographer, and ceramist, Michael has a line of superlatively
sculpted
hand-painted figurines.
