    Mixed-Media

Michelle is a self taught artists having worked in watercolors, pen and ink, pastels, charcoal and acrylics and dabbling in photography. Presently she is passionate about mixed media, specifically "altered art"; using common, "found" objects along with photos from the 1930's and earlier to create unique art pieces and jewelry.

Michelle is originally from Vermont but has lived on the West Coast and in the Southwest. In 1996 she apprenticed with well known Vermont artist; Malgosia Urbanowitz as a faux finish artist, creating unique finishes and murals on walls for clients thus began her love for faux finishing. She attended the prestigious "Faux School" in Frederick Maryland, developing her skills. Michelle has done unique finishes on walls in Arizona, Vermont and Pennsylvania. Some of her work can be seen at local business: "Jeannie's Chapel Street Salon".

Michelle has recently taken to the art of blogging where she talks about her life and showcases her faux work and art pieces. Her art blog; Vintage Pastiche has won several blogging awards from the blogging community and has been featured in sites showcasing blogs.

Michelle currently lives in Beach Lake with her husband, new baby boy and three dogs in a 100+ year old cottage. There she pursues her passion for wildlife, gardening and beekeeping
