Lots of other little things tossed in to placate the wolves at the door. I remember my Dad’s Willys-Knight automobile with its rotary valve engine, Pearl Harbor, and telephones that had an operator who said "Number, please." My first camera was a box Brownie, and I became the family photographer. I was the photography editor for my high school yearbook. Photography led me to chemistry and physics. The Korean GI Bill gave me the start I needed to earn a Ph.D.. Today no one wants to pose and we are still at war although, as a nation, we seem to have learned to live with/by it.
